2014 is the Year of the Wood Horse

With three months left in the Year of the Water Snake, feng shui aficionados all over the world, whether Chinese or non-Chinese, are raring to learn what experts have to say about the favorable and unfavorableforecasts for the comingChinese New Year. Unlike the Gregorian calendar, the Chinese calendar is based on lunar cycles, and the Year of the Wood Horse starts on January 31, 2014.

10 kinds of Jikkan (Heavenly Stem) are made from a combination of Yin-Yang and the Five Elements.

Two popular schools of feng shui—the Four Pillars Chart and the Flying Stars Chart—come into full play in ‘reading’ how the five natural feng shui energies will affect a wide range of human activities including business, industry, government, career, and other personal pursuits. “The shifting positions of these unseen energies, namely Fire, Water, Earth, Wood and Metal, have positive or negative indications for everyone.

Thus, it is important for all of us to learn about these annual changes to derive the most benefits from the positive energies and to deflect the negative ones. We need to update our feng shui,” says Marites Allen, a London-based international feng shui expert. Marites is scheduled to conduct her Annual Feng Shui Updates on December 7, 2013 at F1 Hotel Manila, BGC, Taguig City.

Hosted by Marites and Boy Abunda, this annual convention is the largest feng shui event in the country. In the last two years, it has expanded its reach and has also been held in London, Scandinavia, Tokyo and the US. Paris is also added to the itinerary this year in response primarily to the growing clamor from Filipinos based in Europe.
In a recent media briefing, Marites gave an interesting preview of what the 2014 Annual Feng Shui Updates will cover. The 2014 Flying Stars Chart shows that the Northwest andSoutheast sectors have the Misfortune Star and the Argumentative Star, respectively.“The front and back directions of Malacañang Palace, the seat of the Philippine governmentare located in these sectors, and this infers some challenging prospects for the country” foresees Marites. Unknown to many, feng shui readings do not only cover individuals but also collective groups. Thus it also has indications for the economic or political developments in a specific country or government.

The December 7th event will have important forecasts—from the general outlook for different businesses and industries to specific readings for each of the twelve animal signs of the Chinese zodiac. Along with the readings, recommendations regarding feng shui solutions for the year will be given.
“Participants will then be armed with the necessary tools to make use of the opportunities to better face the challenges brought about during the Year of the Wood Horse,” says Marites.
Tickets for the December convention are now available at all World of Feng Shui Philippines boutiques in Metro Manila or at F1 Hotel.
