FASHION AND MUSIC TAKE THE STAGE AT TRINOMA

Beyond fashion immersion, Style Origin aimed to be a catalyst of creativity and innovation in the way Filipinos express their unique and personal style. Patrons will experience a whole new perspective on style through a series of events that focus on design and beauty.
Following the recent Fashion Beats event at Greenbelt, the spotlight now turns to TriNoma. Retailers of TriNoma took the centerstage from April 7 to 9 as they presented their Spring/Summer 2011 collections. Shoppers witnessed a unique 3-day fashion spectacle at the TriNoma Activity Center as various international and local labels moved to the sounds of some of the country’s most celebrated musicians and top performers.

Opening the show last April 7 was Tim Yap as he introduced the first part of the Fashion Beats series at TriNoma with the Kids, Teens & Sports Collection. Under the direction of Jackie Aquino, the show began with an energetic and heart stopping dance routine from the 2010 UAAP Cheerdance champions, the UP Pep Squad.  Rico Blanco then performed his hits as the show featured the latest designs from Adidas, Adidas Originals, All Flip Flops, Bayo, Big & Small Co., Collezione C2, Debenhams, Debenhams Kids, Ecko Unltd., Forme, Gap, Izod, Jellybean, Kids of Bayo, Lacoste, Lacoste Kids, Memo, Mental, Nothing But H2O, Oxygen, Penshoppe, The Ramp Crossings, Regatta, Skechers, Speedo, Van Heusen, Wade, Wrangler and Zoo York.

In collaboration with the local community, notable personalities from nearby Quezon City villages, schools, and major broadcast networks graced the event. Spotted walking down the runway were Dyan Castillejo with son Matthew, Marc Nelson, Cherry Mercado with daughter Christiana, Grace Lee, Luane Dy, and Tintin Bersola-Babao with daughter Antonia. Pepe Smith and his daughter Sanya stole the hearts of the audience as they modeled together for the clothing brand, Mental.

The Azkals’ Paolo Pascual, Chieffy Caligdong, Ian Araneta, and Roel Gener were also models for the day showing they can also “play” in style on the runway. After the event, the guests enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon of treats from various kiddie booths such as i-photo, glitter tattoo, bling it on beads, cotton candy and photo balloon scattered around the mall.

On the second day, the Activity Center was transformed into a vision of floral blooms by stylist-florist Henry Pascual. Directed by Robby Carmona, the lifestyle collections of 7 For All Mankind, Accessorize, Calvin Klein Jeans, Charriol, Chocolate Clothing, Details, Dorothy Perkins, Esprit, Folded & Hung, Kenneth Cole, Maldita, Mango, Marks & Spencer, Missy, Plains & Prints, Promod, R.A.F., Springfield, Topman, Topshop, X and Zara, danced to the beats of Nyco Maca and rock band, Pupil.

Closing the three-day fashion weekend last April 9, Bench and Co. revealed their Spring/Summer Collection. Through the direction of Robby Carmona, Filipino pride was instilled as the latest styles and designs from leading brands Bench, Herbench, Bench Pinoy Lab, Human and Kashieca opened the fashion parade. Hip and trendy foreign labels, Aldo, Aldo Accessories, CPS Chaps, Celio, Charles & Keith, FOX, La Senza and Pedro were also seen on the runway. Different genres of music were heard throughout the show as Up Dharma Down, Kat Agarado of Sino SiKat, DJ Funk Avy and Batterya Brigada showed off their musical talent. Special appearances were made by Human endorser Isabelle Daza and Bench endorsers, Carl Guevarra, Rocco Nacino, Steven Silva and Sarah Lahbati. The show ended in festivity with a burst of confetti and to the reverberating beats of the drums and percussion.
As part of the Style Origin Campaign, shoppers may also visit the ongoing exhibit curated by New York based shoe designer and design strategist, Brian Tenorio featuring personalities that represent the Philippine brand to the world. Entitled Ambassadors of the Philippine Brand, the exhibit presents 21 personalities from various industries—fashion, music, business, film, and sports—who serve as models in showcasing the Filipino talent and leadership such as Charo Ronquillo, Lea Salonga, Jaime Zobel, Brillante Mendoza and Manny Pacquiao among others. The exhibit will be on display until April 27 at the Level 4 Cinema Lobby of TriNoma.
